AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager of icddr,b told the Financial Express (FE) that at least 539 diarrhoea patients got admitted to icddr,b (formerly known as International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh) on Sunday till 12:00pm.
There is huge pressure on the hospital for diarrhoea patients, he said, adding that physicians, nurses and health staff are struggling to cope with the increasing number of patients.
On Saturday, some 1,245 diarrhoea patients were hospitalised while 1,138 on Friday, he added.
