Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 31 gold bars weighing about 4.67kg from Kakdanga border area of Satkhira district on Friday morning.
“On a tip-off, a patrol team of the BGB conducted a drive in the area around 8.30am on November 22 and recovered the gold bars,” said BGB-33 Battalion Commander Lt Col Golam Mohiuddin Khandakar.
Habildar of Kakadanga Border Outposts (BOP) Nur-E-Alam conducted the drive, the BGB official said, adding “The estimated price of the seized gold bars is around Taka 28 million.”
