At least 44 women were tortured to death for dowry alone across the country in the first five months of current calendar year, according to local rights body Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
ASK also reported that 23 were physically tortured in the country in January and April of 2019.
38 cases were filed in connection with the incidents, the data further revealed.
A total of 85 women were tortured to death, 80 physically tormented and 108 cases were lodged in connection to such incidents across the country in 2018, it added.
