Customs officials recovered 332 kilograms of Ethiopian cannabis from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Thursday.

Preventive team of the Dhaka Customs House recovered 17 cartoons packed with the banned narcotic – later identified as Ethiopian cannabis and also known as New Psychotropic Substance (NPS) from the main warehouse-2 of cargo village at the airstrip.

It is one kind of chemical drug substance which is consumed after mixing with water.

The team after documenting the seizure handed over the drugs to the Department of Narcotics officials in the evening, UNB reported.

A flight of Singapore Airlines SQ-446 on August 23 brought the cartons to the country, said Othelo Chowdhury, deputy custom officials of Dhaka Custom House.
