A cylinder-like bomb weighing 250 kg was found on Wednesday afternoon while digging for construction of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.
HSIA Deputy Director Beni Madhab Biswas said that workers recovered the bomb while digging for the third terminal on Wednesday morning, reports UNB.
Later, the bomb disposal unit of the Bangladesh Air Force went to the spot and defused it.
The bomb was taken to the Bangladesh Air Force Base Paharkanchanpur for disposal.
Experts believe that the bomb was dropped during the Liberation War of 1971.
