2,392 cases filed over traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Friday filed 2,392 cases on charges of traffic rule violation.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 800,000 as fine.

Some 49 cases, including 13 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

As many as 166 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 81 other cases for using hydraulic horn, nine for using hotter and beckon light and 16 others for using tinted glass, according to a statement.

It also dumped 15 vehicles and wrecked 262 others.

A total of 603 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 25 others were seized for the traffic rule violations, reports BSS.
