At least 238 women were raped in the first three months of the current calendar year across the country, according to a report of an independent rights body.
Besides, a total of 13 women were killed after the incidents while three others committed suicide, the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) report revealed.
The ASK also stated that 35 more women were fallen victim to attempted rape during the period.
The independent rights body also mentioned that a total of 73 cases were filed in connection with the incidents between January and March this year while 13 more attempted rape cases were lodged.
As many as 1,321 women were raped in 2021 while 1,627cases were reported in 2020.
Over 1,413 women were raped in 2019 while the number was 732 in 2018.
