20th Parliament session to begin Sunday

The 20th session of the 10th Parliament is set to begin on Sunday afternoon after a 38-day break.

The business advisory committee of parliament will meet at 4pm before the House resumes at 5pm .

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will preside over the business advisory committee meeting.

The committee will fix the duration and businesses of the coming session, reports UNB.

Officials of the Parliament Secretariat said the 20th session is likely to be a brief one ahead of the budget session.

President Abdul Hamid on March 21 last convened the session exercising his power bestowed upon him by article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

On February 28 last, the 19th session of the 10th Parliament was prorogued after 35 sittings that passed 15 bills and unanimously accepted the thanksgiving motion on the President speech what he delivered in the first session of the New Year.
