A total of 2,062 people were killed and 11,945 others injured from July 2020 to June 2021 in different accidents, including fire, road and waterways disasters across the country, according to a fire department report.
Of the total accidents, the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence said 20,991 fires and 8,285 road accidents took place during the period.
Some 608 accidents in waterways and 1,615 other accidents happened in the period, it said.
A total of 456 fire stations are now operational across the country.
