A 20-kilometer long tailback was created on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla district on Thursday morning, causing immense sufferings to hundreds of passengers.

Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station, said the tailback has been created on both sides of the highway.

He said the vehicular movement remained slower since Tuesday night due to the ongoing development works of Meghna, Gumti and Kanchpur bridges, reports UNB.

Traffic police have been trying to ease the situation, the OC added.

The official, however, said the situation will be normal in the afternoon.
