At least 198 journalists fell victim to harassment in Bangladesh in January-November 2021, according to a report by a local independent rights body.
Of them, 13 received death threats over the phones during the period, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) said in the report.
It adds that 13 journalists were attacked and harassed by political parties while 52 others were tortured and harassed by suspected terrorists.
Some 32 cases were filed in connection with media reports during the period under review, ASK pointed out.
A total of 247 journalists faced harassment in 2020, the ASK data said.
According to the local rights body data, at least 142 journalists were harassed in 2019 while some 207 others faced harassment in 2018.
