17,484 cases filed across country in Jan: Police

A total of 17,484 cases were lodged across the country in January 2019, according to the data provided by Bangladesh Police.

Of them, 9,634 cases of recovery of arms, explosives and narcotics were filed during the same period.

The data also revealed that a total of 1,139 cases on women and child repression were registered in the single month.

Apart from this, the number of robbery cases was 68 in January while murder 351, burglary 174, theft 494, police assault 69 and kidnapping 46.
