About 170 women and children were raped in Cumilla between January and June of the current calendar year, as per register book reports.
In January, 21 women and children were raped. The number was 29 in February, 26 in March, 27 in April, 32 in May and 35 in June, according to reports of the register book of forensic medicine department of Comilla Medical College Hospital.
An official of the forensic medicine department said they have to examine the rape and murder incidents almost every day, reports UNB.
The youngest victim was three-year-old. But most of the victims were aged between 15 and 20 years.
