Under the COVAX Programme, 1.7 million doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine are set to arrive in Dhaka this morning, a Chinese embassy official has said.
The doses departed Beijing at 5:25am (BST), said Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Hualong Yan in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
He added, “We'll be soon coming for vaccine co-producing.”
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has recently said Bangladesh will soon sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China to co-produce Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
