The entire country will be brought under 100 per cent electricity coverage by December this year.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu came up with the statement while addressing a function in Keraniganj on Friday, reports BSS.
“No villages will be remained without electricity….We are working sincerely to fulfil the target of 100 per cent electricity coverage” he said.
Nasrul said demand of power is increasing day by day as massive developments have been taken place in the country.
To fulfil the targets of development, the government has taken initiatives to increase power production, he added.
Keraniganj upazila chairman Shahin Ahmed, representatives of local government bodies, leaders and activists of AL, among others, were present at the function.
