Govt providing healthcare service to people's doorstep, says Azam

State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam in Jamalpur on Friday said the government had reached healthcare services at the doorstep of people across the country.

He said many healthcare service centres have been set up with private initiatives which are also playing vital role in providing healthcare service to people.

The state minister also urged the private organisations to provide healthcare services to the poor people at free of cost.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion at Shilpakala academy auditorium in the district town aftet inaugurating a kidney dialysis centre in Amlapara area.

Jamalpur Samity and Sonar Bangla Foundation jointly set up the kidney dialysis centre.

President of Jamalpur Samity Hasan Mahmud Raja presided over the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir, Superintendent of Police Md Delwar Hossain, Mayor of Jamalpur Municipality Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Moni and Secretary General of Jamalpur Samity Sheikh Md Shafiqul Islam, among others, addressed the programme.

The state minister also declared to donate Tk 0.5 million each year for the dialysis centre to treat poor people at free of cost, reports BSS.
