Both Dhaka South and North City Corporations started disposing of the wastes of sacrificial animals at 2 pm Wednesday as per prior announcement to keep the city clean and check environment pollution, reports BSS.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the activities of animal wastes removal at Kawartek cattle market near Dholaikhal this afternoon.

On the other hand, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) panel mayor Jamal Mostafa inaugurated the activities at Uttara Sector 15 in the city.

Opening the wastes management activities, Sayeed Khokon said animal wastes will be removed within 24 hours. He sought cooperation of city dwellers and urged them to inform the call center if they notice any animal wastes anywhere in the city.

The hotline number is 09611000999, he said.

Khokon said they had removed around 20,000 tonnes of wastes in the previous year and they are ready to remove such amount of wastes this year. He also expressed his optimism that they would be successful to remove the wastes within 24 hours following the prior announcement.

DNCC panel mayor Jamal Mostafa also said the city corporation is running their activities in a planned way to remove the wastes within 24 hours.
