With the second season being released just a few days ago, the whole world is more or less hooked on Netflix’s ‘Wicher.’
Witcher is a fantasy drama television series that has received much global acclaim, courtesy of its amazing cast as well as its fantastic storyline.
The drama is based on a book series of the same name by one of the most renowned fantasy writers of the present era who happens to hail from Poland - Andrzej Sapkowski.
The drama is based on a fictional world that is pretty similar to the landmass of medieval times and is known as ‘The Continent.’ The area is haunted by many monsters and beasts.
With the much-acclaimed British Actor Henry Cavill, who is also known for his role as Superman–playing the lead protagonist Witcher Geralt–a mutated monster hunter, the series moves quite fast with the adventures which mainly involves Geralt.
The series is full of supernatural and fantasy turns of events that would take someone away from the boredom and monotony of the everyday world to a dark and desolate world full of monsters and beasts.
Apart from the monsters and beasts, the human relationship dynamic in the drama is also a treat for the viewers, as the humans are often more vindictive and diabolical than the monsters and beasts.
The other two main characters include Princess Cirilla who is bestowed with supernatural abilities and the much infamous Yennefer of Vengerberg, whose ambition is certainly one of the main focal points of the series.
The first season was a bit confusing for the viewers at the end as 3 parallel stories converged into a single plot.
The story, as it is told from the perspective of three different protagonists, Geralt, Cirilla and Yennefer, can appear to be a little hard to catch at the beginning. But as the series progresses, it will definitely be extremely enjoyable for the viewers.
The second season, although released not even a week ago, has already received a lot of acclaim because of the fact that it has more consistency in its plotline compared to the first season and is on its way to becoming one of the highest-grossing series on Netflix.
Witcher is a fantastic watch if someone is very much into the fantasy genre and wants to delve deep into a world full of supernatural creatures superseded by human cruelty and cynicism.
