The serenity in Coldplay music is second to none

Tears stream down your face

When you lose something you cannot replace

Tears stream down your face,

I promise you I will learn from my mistakes

There are few belonging to Generation Z or millennials who are not familiar with these stanzas of ‘Fix You.’

This might be regarded as one of the Coldplay songs which have touched the hearts of fans in a way that few songs can and has delicately expressed the sorrow of being heartbroken for someone's own mistake.

Coldplay as a name needs no introduction. With blockbusters like ‘Fix You,’ ‘Viva la Vida,’ ‘The Scientist,’ ‘Hymn for the weekend,’ millions across the world are enamoured by the lyrics and composition of the British band which originally started as an alternative rock band by four music-loving students of University College London.

Although their first independent album was released as early as 1998, their rise to fame came a bit later, with ‘Yellow’ being their breakthrough album.

Ever since Coldplay has grown steadily along with a humongous global fanbase. The vocal Chris Martin might well be one of the most known music personalities around the world.

For starters, the most common theme of the Coldplay songs is love, something which immediately draws appeal among people of that age range, and the lyrics composition, as well as singing style of Coldplay, is varied and creative, which doesn’t lead the target audience to suffer from monotony.

For example, the song Hymn for the Weekend has a vibe that is completely different from ‘Let Somebody Go’ which was done in collaboration with popular singer Selena Gomez, yet both the songs were about a similar theme.

The versatility in melody and pitch is one of the main reasons behind Coldplay's skyrocketing popularity among the young generation.

Coldplay also does a fair share of collaborative works, often with acclaimed and popular singers.

Like the aforementioned Let, Somebody Go with Selena Gomez, in 2021 they collaborated with BTS for the production of My Universe. With BTS being a global phenomenon along with the popularity of Coldplay, the song became a massive success as it went on to become a USA chart-topper.

Coldplay also brings a bit from the legacy of the already successful genre of British Rock. A strong foundation that has indirectly helped them in reaching global heights.

The band members are consistently ranked among the most influential people of the UK, with Chris Martin being involved with a number of famous people, which also adds to their global popularity and status as cultural icons among the youth.

The ever-youthful exuberance, as well as the versatility in lyrics and composition of Coldplay, has already taken them to new heights.

Music is all about peace and calm of mind. Not all listeners want to indulge in dark and gloomy music about the struggles and failures of life.

Coldplay is unique in this perspective that they mostly generate mind-soothing and calming music which makes the listeners forget about worldly pain for some time.
