‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ one of the most awaited films since its announcement, is finally out, and it was more than everything the fans expected it to be.
It was a holistic tribute to all the webslinger fans around the world, and a fitting commemoration to the character, undoubtedly Marvel Comics’ most popular.
It would be a crime to dig too deep into the plot and give spoilers as the movie is still going strong worldwide. The craze in Bangladesh is no less than the global scenario as more than 50 shows are running every day.
Edge-of-the-seat exciting, nostalgic, emotional rollercoaster– this film is about our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man who has successfully produced one of the best comic hero movies ever.
The biggest concern since the movie’s trailer came out was how this movie was going to fit in all the villains from different Spider-Man movies, and what would happen to Peter Parker.
MCU, like their big crossover events such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, managed to figure out a way to link them in the story seamlessly and provide them with enough screen time for the audience to connect with them.
But among all those villains, two performances must be noted separately- Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin and Alfred Molina as Doc Ock.
Dafoe, who only agreed to this movie on the condition of doing the stunts by himself, provides a frightening performance that transcends beyond the screen to send shivers down the spine.
He proves throughout the film why he is the greatest foe of Spidey and his dialogues leave a chill, only parallel to the likes of the Joker.
Molina’s grand comeback and his performance as the eight-limbed villain once again reminds everyone why he was so loved by the fans since Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 2.’
And if we are indeed talking about performances, it would be an injustice to not talk about Tom Holland.
His Spider-Man has been often taunted by many as the ‘Iron Man Jr’ due to him getting a lot of Stark tech. However, in this movie, Holland shows the range of acting that proves why he was cast as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
His performance is a perfect portrayal of a teenager going through one personal problem after another, with the innate goodness that makes him a hero.
Holland, in a performance that might go down as one of MCU’s best, not just dictates the emotional roller-coaster, but sets up the future of the character in a magnificent way.
Huge credit must go to director Jon Watts for making sure that Spider-Man: No Way Home was not just a movie about Peter fighting the sinister six (five), but it was more about himself than any of the MCU’s Spider-Man films before.
No Way Home also deals brilliantly with the CGI work considering it is a heavy workload cinema, particularly for the mirror dimension.
And for audience reaction in the theatre, only one movie can be compared which is Endgame. There was constant cheering and screaming from the crowd for 2 hours and 28 minutes.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is a truly brilliant addition to the superhero genre. And it has shown great promise regarding the upcoming films of MCU.
