Music composer Ali Akbar Rupu no more

Noted music composer and director Ali Akbar Rupu died at a city hospital on Thursday. He was 57.

Rupu, who had long been suffering from kidney and heart diseases, breathed his last around 12:40pm at United Hospital, said her daughter Fariha Naz.

He is survived by wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives, fans and well-wishers to mourn his death, reports UNB.

Fariha said her father's first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asr prayers followed by the second one at Baro Moghbazar Jam-e-Mosque.

Later, she said Rupu's body will be taken to Bangla Vision to enable his colleagues to pay their last respect to him.

He will be buried at Azimpur Graveyard after Isha prayers.

Beginning career as a musician in the early 80s, Rupu was a composer and director of many popular songs.

He is also well-known for many songs he composed and directed for popular magazine show Ittyadi.
