Film on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to be made

BEIJING: Film-makers from China and Pakistan have announced that they will jointly produce a movie on international trade cooperation.

Director of the script writing committee of the China Television Artists Association, Wang Haiping said that the film will be named The Journey.

 It will showcase stories of Chinese businesses participating in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, reports https://tribune.com.pk

At the first Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) film festival held in Qingdao, Wang added, “The intimate friendship of the people from the two countries will be highlighted in the film.” Being the script writer, he said that the film will be based on real life stories.

Chinese and Pakistani parties will cooperate in script writing, shooting, post-production and screening of the movie. Filming is expected to begin in early 2019.

As a major cultural exchange activity following the recent SCO summit, the five-day film festival has attracted films produced in the past two years by 12 countries, including 23 vying for the film awards and 55 slated for screening. Syra Shahroz’s Chalay Thay Saath and Humayun Saeed’s Punjab Nahi Jaungi  and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani are some of the Pakistani films that will be screened at the festival.
