CODA hosts reception for Chanchal Chowdhury

National award winner Chanchal Chowdhury gets reception from College of Development Alternative (CODA).

College of Development Alternative (CODA) accorded a reception to famous actor Chanchal Chowdhury on Tuesday for winning two national film awards.

The former teacher of CODA, Chanchal Chowdhury, was named as national award winner recently in best actor category for his role in 'Aynabaji' film.

On April 5, the Information Ministry released the names of the 2016 winners, including Chanchal, for their outstanding contribution to the film industry through a notification.

In 2010, the government also gave him same recognition for his role in Monpura film.

On Tuesday, CODA arranged a programme to honour Chanchal Chowdhury, officially known as Suchinta Chowdhury Chanchal, at University of Development Alternative (UODA) auditorium in Dhanmondi area.

The actor received crests from CODA's founder Professor Mujib Khan, Director General Professor Dr Iffat Chowdhury and Principal Salma Ihsan.

Chanchal Chowdhury, in his address to the function, acknowledged the role of CODA behind his successful career, said a press release.

"This institution has developed the foundation of my career. Founder of this institution and colleagues also played very important roles to bring me in this stage," he added.

After the reception programme, the guests and participants joined a lunch hosted by college authority.
