Bollywood film ‘Toilet’ inspires Bill Gates

Hindi movie 'Toilet: A Love Story' was one of the things that inspired Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates this year, he revealed on Twitter.

As "tough year" 2017 comes to a close, Gates, a man who is himself an inspiration to many, took to Twitter to share seven "inspiring" tweets with his followers.

The list included stories from around the globe, from a man called Edwardo Sanchez who became the first in his family to graduate college, to Bhutan and Maldives eliminateing measles, according to Times of India.

And right there, on number two, stood Bollywood romance 'Toilet: A Love Story,' which "educated audiences about India's sanitation challenge."

Gates said that the tweets he listed "made me feel better about 2017 and more optimistic about the new year."

Toilet was a 2017 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey, the film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles.

The film was a satirical comedy in support of governmental campaigns to improve the sanitation conditions, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.
