Ananta Jalil stands by Rajib’s family

Businessman-cum-actor Ananta Jalil is willing to help the family of Govt Titumir College student Rajib Hasan, who lost his battle for life on Tuesday.

“I would like to bear the educational expense of the two younger brothers Rajib left behind,” he said in a Facebook post the same day.

A Facebook user, Kushal Ishtiak, shared the post, saying “Among all machines, he [Jalil] has got a heart.”

On April 3, Rajib lost his right hand in a race between two buses at the Sonargaon crossing near Panthakunja park.

The victim was immediately taken to MH Samorita Hospital at Panthapath and then shifted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

His condition worsened on April 10 and ever since had been kept on life support at the Intensive Care Unit of the DMCH until 12:40am on Tuesday, when he was taken off life support as doctors lost hope on him.

Rajib, a second year student, was the lone guardian of his brothers who are now studying at a madrasa in Dhaka city as they had lost their parents in their early age.
