ULAB signs MoU with UK’s Keele University

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Keele University, UK have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ULAB permanent campus in Mohammadpur in the capital.

The two institutions have entered in the agreement with the aim to conduct joint research involving ULAB’s Center for Sustainable development (CSD), apply for grants through collaboration, student exchange programmes and teaching opportunities, said a media release received today (Sunday).

The MoU signing ceremony took place on Saturday in presence of Professor Dr H M Jahirul Haque, the Vice-Chancellor of ULAB and Dr Sharon George, Course Director for MSc Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology of Keele University, UK.

Professor Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees of ULAB and Dr Samiya Selim, Director of Center for Sustainable development (CSD) were present on the occasion among other officials and faculty members of the university. 

Representatives from Keele University included Prof Carolyn Roberts, Dr Simon George, Dr Adam Moolna, Ash Hulme along with Miss Parveen Begum and Mark Maurice from Solisco, UK.

Founded in 1949 by A D Lindsay, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Keele University has been helping to change the world for the better by engaging in cutting-edge research, the release added.

On the other hand, Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), ULAB is considered one of the leading research centres in Bangladesh that has been working on the Sustainable Development Goals and conducting research on issues related to it.
