ULAB holds discussion on Bangladesh’s art scene

A panel discussion was held at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on the current scenario of arts in the country.

The discussion titled "Contemporary Art Scene in Bangladesh” was organised by the General Education Department (GED) of the university and held at its auditorium on Monday.

Vice-Chancellor of ULAB Professor Dr HM Jahirul Haque inaugurated the programme, say a press release.

The panellists were Co- Founder and President of the Samdani Art Foundation Nadia Samdani, Chief Curator of Dhaka Art Summit Diana Campbell Betancourt, Editor at Depart- The Art Magazine Mustafa Zaman, Chief Curator of Bengal Foundation Tanzim Wahab, Eminent artist Nazia Andaleeb Preema and Professor of English of ULAB and famous Art Critique Syed Manzoorul Islam.

Editor at Depart- The Art Magazine Mustafa Zaman moderated the panel discussion.

This panel discussion has explored the current state of contemporary Bangladeshi art and what makes it such a unique form of expression within the broader international contemporary art scene.

Guests, faculty members, admin members, students were present in the programme, among others.
