SSC, equivalent exams to begin Feb 1

The Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations under eight general education boards for the year 2018 are going to start from the 1st of February. 

The Ministry of Education announced the exam schedule on Wednesday which is similar to that of last year. 

Last year, the exams started on Feb 2 due to the holiday for Saraswati Puja on Feb 1. 

The written tests will end on Feb 28. 

Students will be allowed to take scientific calculators inside exam halls. But no-one except the centre secretary will be allowed to take mobile phone inside the centre, as per rules set for the public examinations. 

The practical examination on music is due on Feb 25 while practical tests for other subjects including ‘basic trade’ will be held in between Feb 26 and Mar 4. 

The Dakhil examinations under the Madrasah Education Board will also start on Feb 1, and the written tests will end on Feb 25 while the practical and oral tests will be done by Mar 6. 

The written tests under Bangladesh Technical Education Board will end on Feb 24. 

The 2018 SCC examinations will not include tests on the physical education, health science and sports, and career studies. 

The respective institutions will evaluate their students on these subjects and send the marks to the exam centres. 

The centres will add the scores to the evaluation sheet and send it to the education board, officials of the Education Board Bangladesh have said. 

The tests will be held in the institutions from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm, like previous years, according to bdnews24.com.
