Rajshahi University Journalist Association (RUJA) on Friday demanded inclusion of the university correspondents who works as campus reporters at various universities in the 'Ninth Wage Board'.
RUJA came up with the demand in a statement signed by the association president Mustafiz Rony and general secretary Jahirul Islam Jahid, reports UNB.
"It is a matter of sorrow that media houses never evaluate university correspondents as per their works, although a university correspondent works like a staff correspondent as well as performs other assignments," it reads.
The university reporters are not well-assessed in salary structure, although eighth wage board was announced without keeping a university correspondent in mind, it said.
They urged to the concerned authorities to include university correspondents in the ninth wage board.
