Opportunity to learn about market research

With the dynamic business and marketplace scenarios, proper market research is the most essential arrow in the quiver. From developing the marketing strategy to get a real insight into consumerism, one needs to know how to know how to do market research. Keeping that in mind, North South University Finance Club has come forward with the first edition of International Market Research Competition-IMRC 1.0 presented by Build Bangladesh and in association with Torun Digital and Youth Opportunities, for the undergraduate students from any university.

It is an individual inter-university online competition based on international market research. The main objective of the competition is to give students a real-life experience in conducting market research and expanding their potential as a researcher.

IMRC 1.0 will comprise two rounds. Before the first round, the only workshop will be conducted on  December 19, where the experts will coach the participants on the inner workings behind real-life market research. Following that, the participant will have guidance, tools, and resources to implement standard market research along with the recorded session of the workshop. A panel of seasoned professionals from Build Bangladesh and UCB Capital Management will be conducting the workshop, giving the participants an insight into various fields and uses of research.

In the first round, the participants will analyse the international market and prepare a report on their research findings. From the submissions, the top 10 well-researched reports will advance to the grand finale, where they will be participating in a presentation round based on their research. The grand finale will be live from the official Facebook page of NSU Finance Club on December 27. Top 10 research submissions will not only go through to the finale, but will also receive a coveted certificate and the top three winners of the competition will earn a total of Tk 15,000 as prize money.

The registration is live now with a fee of Tk 150 that will be donated to the charity organisation ‘It’s Humanity’ foundation which has done praiseworthy work with underprivileged children. The registration will go on till December 19. Every registration will contribute towards purchasing stationery sets for them. The goal of the event is to provide the students with a proper platform to unravel their potential in market research with a ripple of good deeds that might help change some child’s future. It will also help budding researchers achieve first-hand exposure and feedback to real-life research work, which will help the students get prepared for their prospective career.
