NSU inks MoU with Brac IT Services

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of North South University (NSU) has signed a MoU with Brac IT Services (BiTS) on academia-industry collaboration recently.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the BiTS will conduct career workshops; on-campus recruitments, tech seminars at the NSU geared towards the students of ECE department.

They also look at ways to collaborate on research projects, utilising academia expertise from ECE, says a media release.

Dr. Arshad M Chowdhury, Dean, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (SEPS), and AK Sabbir Mahbub, Acting CEO, Brac IT Services Limited, inked the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

Mohammad Shahadat Kabir, VP and Head of Project Management of the BiTS, Arif-Uz-Zaman, VP and Head of Microfinance Solutions, BiTS, Ismat Jaha, Head of HR of the BiTS, and Md Tasaufur Rahman, Associate Manager of the BiTS, were present at the programme.

Moreover, Dr. M. Khasro Miah, Director, Career Placement Services of the NSU, and Shaikh Shawon Arefin Shimon, Lecturer, ECE department of the NSU, were also joined the event.

During the signing ceremony, both parties exchanged views on possible ways of interconnecting academia and industry, and talked about future possible events at NSU in collaboration with ECE department.
