The government is going to establish a public university to spread the scope of higher education and research in Jamalpur district.
The Parliament passed 'Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University Bill- 2017' on Monday in this regard.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid moved the Bill and it was passed by voice vote.
Following an announcement by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the education ministry has taken an initiative to establish a university in Jamalpur district in the proposed bill, reports UNB.
The establishment of the university would improve the education, research, training and extension of different topics of science in graduate, post-graduate and different tier in the higher education.
