Hult Prize is back at SUST

The world's most competitive business concept sharing platform 'Hult Prize' has returned to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). The Hult Prize 2020 competition, like every year, will happen in multiple stages, beginning with the on-campus round at SUST, which will continue from 19th to 29th December. Participating teams will share their business ideas in front of a highly experienced panel of judges in this round.

Hult Prize is a worldwide student competition in partnership with the United Nations that challenges university teams to solve the most pressing global issues with viable business ideas. It enables young people to envision their abilities as leaders of change. According to Forbes, the Hult Prize is one of the most important social entrepreneurship awards globally.

"The primary goal of our organising committee of this second edition of Hult Prize at SUST is to acquaint our students with it as it is still new,” said Ms Badrunnesa Takia, campus director of Hult Prize at SUST. In this regard, they arranged some webinars as well to reach the students. “We are trying to increase students' engagement in such international competitions to share their start-up ideas with the global community."

The registration process closed on 13th December. Due to the pandemic situation this time, the whole event will be held online. The winning teams of the on-campus round will be taking part in the regional round, where they will be competing for USD 1 million as seed money for their startups. The champion team of the Hult Prize at SUST will get a BDT 10,000 voucher from Casper Foundation and a BDT 2000 discount voucher from online educational marketplace Bohubrihi.

"SUSTians have a record of winning some of the most prestigious business competitions held in the country. This time, they are getting an international platform to share ideas. We expect a massive number of teams will participate in this competition, and the world will get some tremendous ideas from them," she added.
