Hult Prize at BUTEX: Inspiring a generation to make a difference

The Hult Prize, a global competition that encourages young people to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills by designing startups to solve a particular challenge, has been a part of BUTEX for the last three consecutive years.

For more than a decade, the HULT Prize has been transforming young people’s vision and potential as impact leaders of change around the world.

In this competition, youths are provided with impact-focused programmes, events, training and the reputed USD 1 million global startup prize to help the winning teams to launch a social enterprise.

This remarkable event has been organised as ‘HULT Prize On-campus BUTEX’ since 2018 - successfully upholding the reputation of the HULT prize, hosting three on-campus programmes, with the participation of more than 100 teams in each.

The competition is judged by the finest corporators and scholars and conducts realm broadening and enriching sessions with distinguished global personalities. This year, the Hult Prize at BUTEX 2022, will be its fourth term.

Owing to the pandemic, this year’s on-campus programme will be taking place online just like previous year’s campaign. The programme restarted on February 09 after an inevitable break in workflow due to some global issues.

The introductory session on case cracking Break the Challenge'' was held on February 09.

Md Fahim Hossain, regional associate of Hult Prize Foundation, Kuala Lumpur and regional finalist, Malaysia, Hult Prize Foundation Champion of Hult Prize 2020 on Campus Round, was present as the speaker.

In this session, the first round (summary submission) was initiated, following which teams will be needed to submit their ideas within 500-1000 words. The registration was opened on February 14 and submission of this round will be closed on February 28.

On February 24, a bootcamp session on ‘Design Thinking’ powered by Casper Academy will be held. On March 04, the list of the finalists is planned to be announced.

The submissions for the final round will be closed on March 12 and the finalists will have to submit a Pitch Video on a time limit and a 300-word project summary besides their PowerPoint file.

Shafin Mustafa Fardeen, campus director of HULT Prize at BUTEX 2022 said, “The pandemic has changed a lot of things for us, brought about many new challenges. We have tried our best to overcome the barriers and we hope the event will be a success.”

The final results of the Hult Prize at BUTEX may be declared on March 21, 2022. Hult Prize at BUTEX has partnered with The Financial Express, Textile Today, Bunon and Somoy TV for the event.

They are hoping to make this event successful in order to give the textile sectors pioneering global leaders in entrepreneurial and socio-economic development for the 21st century.
