Eight IU students receive dean awards

Eight students of Applied Science and Technology Faculty of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have received the university’s dean award for their outstanding academic results in the honours examinations under 2010-11 academic year on Tuesday noon.

The students received the awards from IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari at the prize giving ceremony held at the faculty.

Professor Dr M A Sattar Hossen, former Vice-Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology and Professor Dr M Kamal Uddin, former Pro-VC of IU, were present in the function as the special guests with the faculty Dean Professor Dr M Shamsul Alam in the chair, reports UNB.

The award recipients are - M Abdul Muttalib of Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering department, Rawnok Jahan of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department, Sabrina Ferdaous of Computer Science and Engineering department, Khan Jahan Ali of Information and Communication Engineering department, Ariful Islam of Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering department,  Aklima Sultana of Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department, Mozammel Hossain of Mathematics department and Mahfuzur Rahman of Statistics department of the university.
