DU Library organises workshop on manuscript

Dhaka University Library has organised a five-day long workshop on “Manuscript” at its cyber centre to upgrade the quality of education.

Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, vice-chancellor of the university, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest on Thursday.

Prof. Dr. S M Zabed Ahmed, acting librarian of the DU, presided over the function, while Acting Librarian (Planning and Development) Syeda Farida Parveen delivered welcome speech at the workshop.

Deputy Librarian Syed Ali Akbar gave vote of thanks, said a media release.

The vice-chancellor stressed the need for deciphering of manuscript to upgrade the quality of education and research at the university.

Terming the manuscripts as the most valuable resources of human civilisation the VC said, “We have to preserve these manuscripts in proper ways.”  

Students from various departments of the university are participating in the five-day long workshop.
