The Debating Club of Daffodil International University (DIUDC) won the title of ‘BDF-ILO Debate Championship 2019’ by defeating Chattogram University Debating Club.
The winning team comprised of Al Mukit, Omar Faruk Shimanta and Amit Shaha.
The grand finale and prize giving ceremony of the inter university debate competition was held on Monday at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University.
As part of the centenary celebration of ILO (International Labour Organization), ILO Bangladesh partnered with Bangladesh Debate Federation (BDF) for organising the nationwide debate competition, said a media release received today (Tuesday).
Md Abdul Mannan, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Planning distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor of BUET was present at the programme as the special guest.
Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of Daffodil International University, presided over the function.
Tuomo Poutiainen, Country Director, ILO BD, Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab, Moderator, DIUDC and Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science of DIU, Dr Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University and Abdullah Md Shukrana, President of Bangladesh Debate Federation were also present at the programme.
