12 JU students get scholarships

A total of 12 students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) with financial difficulties have been awarded scholarships.

Jahangirnagar University Alumni Association in the United Kingdom (JUAAUK), an organisation of former JU students living in the UK, donated the stipend money for the financially insolvent students.

Professor Md Kamrul Hasan, Convener of JUAAUK Stipend Fund of Bangladesh unit, has handed over the stipend money to the students at a function held at the seminar room of JU Philosophy department.

He said, “It’s our little effort to help the students of this university who are facing financial difficulties. In future, we will try to continue such initiative,” said a statement.

Member of the organisation Professor Md Farhad Hossain of Statistics department and Professor Nurul Islam of Geography and Environment department addressed the function, among others, reports BSS.
