10th Chemistry Olympiad on Friday

The 10th Bangladesh Chemistry Olympiad will be held on Friday. Bangladesh Chemical Society is going to arrange the event in the country virtually.

A total of 2,268 students of eleven and twelve grades of colleges across the country will attend the 10th Chemistry Olympiad online on Friday, confirmed Professor Dr Mohammad Shoeb, convenor of 10th Bangladesh Chemistry Olympiad and professor of chemistry department at Dhaka University over phone.

Meanwhile, the leaders of Bangladesh Chemical Society held a press conference at Chattogram Press Club on Wednesday to brief about the olympiad in Chattogram region.

Professor Benu Kumar Dey, vice-president of Bangladesh Chemical Society, read out the written statement. Among others, Joint-convenor of the 10th Chemistry Olympiad of Chattogram region Professor Md Edris Ali, and Member Secretary of Chattogram region Professor NKM Akber Hossain addressed the press conference.

Professor Dr Benu Kumar Dey said, “The 10th Chemistry Olympiad was scheduled to be held on March 13 across the country. But, we had to defer the schedule due to corona outbreak. There are mandatory bindings to arrange Chemistry Olympiad in Bangladesh to attend the International Chemistry Olympiad. So, we are arranging the 10th Chemistry Olympiad virtually.”

“This is the first round of the competition. 100 best performers will be selected across the country. They will be competing in second round, and only 10 from Bangladesh will get chance to attend the International Chemistry Olympiad in Japan,” informed Convenor of the 10th Chemistry Olympiad of Chattogram region Professor Md Jamaluddin Ahmed over phone.
