1000 DIU students receive free laptops

Daffodil International University (DIU), in association with Daffodil Computers Ltd, has distributed DCL C483 model laptop among 1000 students of the university under ‘One Student-One Laptop’ project.

The free laptop distribution project aims at preparing the students for the 21st century and adapting them to the latest ICT friendly education to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally.

Md Rashadul Islam, Additional Secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology graced the laptop distribution ceremony as chief guest while Professor Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was present as the special guest and handed over the laptops to the students today (Monday), according to a press statement.

Hamidul Haque Khan, Trasurer, Daffodil International University presided over the occasion and Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs of the university addressed the function.  

Before distributing the laptops, Mr Hamidul Haque Khan administered the oath to the students there about the utilisation of computers for their academic and educational purpose.
