Finance Minister AMA Muhith requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to extend its support to assist Bangladesh’s effort to be a developed country.
“You (ADB) should come forward with higher concessional funds for Bangladesh,” he said.
The finance minister said it while speaking on the 50 years Anniversary celebration of the ADB in Dhaka Tuesday evening.
ADB Bangladesh Resident Mission in Dhaka organised the programme.
Muhith said he wants to see poverty wiped off from the world in 50 year’s time.
Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Gowher Rizvi, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan, Economic Relations Division Secretary Kazi Shofiqul Azam and ADB Country Director Manmohan Prakash also spoke on the occasion.
