MetLife Bangladesh on Wednesday announced a new initiative in response to the COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh. The newly-launched programme titled “Sathe Achi – MetLife COVID-19 Customer Support Program” provides unique health and financial support for MetLife’s individual policy holders:
- Free of charge, 24/7, online doctor consultation via chat or video calls for COVID-19 or any other health issues so that users of this program don’t have to go to a hospital or clinic in person for primary medical advice. This service can be accessed from mobile phones or computers.
- One-time financial support for isolation, hospitalization or death caused by COVID-19.
MetLife’s Individual Policy holders will have to register for this program. “Sathe Achi – MetLife COVID-19 Customer Support Program” will remain open for registration for 30 days.

The program is the result of a strategic partnership between MetLife Bangladesh and Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT), who collaborated on the development of the platform. GTT through its division called Digital Healthcare Solutions will manage the overall operations including doctor consultation service and disbursement of financial support.
Commenting on the program, MetLife Bangladesh’s General Manager, Syed Hammadul Karim, said, “It is at the heart of our purpose to do what we can to serve our customers when they need us the most. ‘Sathe Achi’ program is a new initiative from MetLife Bangladesh in response to the COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh.”
