Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal expressed satisfaction over the growth projection made by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the current fiscal year.
"People of the country are working heartily in the year of Bangabandhu's birth centenary despite the pandemic. The high growth will be due to their affection to the country," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
His reaction came as the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2020 forecasted that Bangladesh's economy may grow at a rate of 6.8 per cent this year.
Mr Kamal said Bangladesh's remittance inflow is in a strong position and the export earning has started to gain pace bypassing the impacts of the pandemic.
"So, taking all these things in consideration we can hope that the growth projection of 8.1 to 8.2 per cent will be attained," he said.
