The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) in Bangladesh in partnership with The Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society reached out to 3000 health care providers with ‘Thank you’ lunch treating COVID-19 patients in the country on Eid-ul-Fitr day.
These health care providers includes doctors, nurses and caregivers across fifteen hospitals in the country under the ‘Joy of Giving’ platform. The Bank also provided the same to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IECDR) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The lunch were prepared by the star chefs of InterContinental Dhaka and distributed by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) to the selected hospitals.
Speaking on the initiative, Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bangladesh said, “This Eid has been very different, with many of us celebrating within the confines of our homes. That said, we want to pay tribute to our front line stars: the doctors, nurses and healthcare providers from different hospitals treating COVID-19 patients. They continue to serve the people in need during these challenging times. We recognise their sacrifice and our sincere appreciation goes to them for their selfless contribution. With the spirit of ‘Joy of Giving’, we commit to keep hope alive.”
