The petroleum exports of United States have increased in recent years, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report on Monday.

The EIA said in its latest Petroleum Administration for Defence District report that US petroleum exports have become an important factor in global oil markets, reports Xinhua.

US petroleum product exports have increased over the past several years, reaching 5.2 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2017, according to EIA.

US crude oil exports, in particular, have risen sharply since crude oil export restrictions were lifted in late 2015, reaching 1.1 million b/d in 2017.

Through June 15, US crude oil exports have surpassed 2 million b/d seven times in EIA weekly data.
