The government has deployed 20 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces in Dhaka ahead of Thursday's graft verdict against Khaleda Zia.
The paramilitary force members have also been deployed in different areas of the country including on Wednesday.
The decision to deploy the paramilitary forces was taken ahead of Thursday's verdict in a graft case against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Public relation officer of BGB Headquarters Mohsin Reza said the authority decided to deploy the forces following requests of respective civil administrations.
Three platoons each of BGB members have already been deployed in Sirajganj, Bogra, and Narayanganj.
One platoon of BGB forces have been deployed in Noakhali, Laxmipur, and Chandpur.
UNB says, the move came in pre-emption of rowdy protests as aftermath of a court verdict billed for Thursday in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed against Khaleda and five others.
