The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved eight projects involving an estimated cost of Tk 51.42 billion.
Among the nine projects, the ECNEC approved Tk 26.06 billion to improve important roads under various unions and upazilas of Dhaka division.
The approval came from the weekly ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Tuesday.
"Today's ECNEC meeting cleared eight projects involving Tk 51.42.06 billion," said Planning Secretary Muhammad Nurul Amin while briefing reporters after the meeting.
Of the total cost, Tk 41.29 billion will come from the government fund, while Tk 10.12 billion from foreign sources as project assistance, he said.
Among the approved projects, six are new and the rest two are revised ones, reports UNB.
The Planning Secretary said the 'Expansion and Strengthening of Important Upazila and Union roads under Dhaka Division Project' will be implemented by June 2024.
