In the context of ongoing economic hardship caused by COVID-19 pandemic China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC), an international company of China has donated foodstuffs for two thousand distressed families of Madaripur- 2 constituency.
Foodstuffs include 10 tonnes of rice, 2 tonnes of sugar, 2,000 packets of vermicelli, 2 tonnes of potato. Md. Shajahan Khan MP received the relief material from Md. Shahed Ramjan, Chief Coordinator of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. at a simple ceremony held at Madaripur Stadium on May 14.
"We believe that it is our moral and social responsibility to help those poor families who are the worst sufferers of the corona crisis, we are very willing to stand beside our Bangladeshi friends together fighting against this deadly virus. We believed that under the leadership of the government, the people of Bangladesh will surely be able to overcome coronavirus and return to normal life and we will continue our support to them in case of any necessity.", said Md. Shahed Ramjan.
Earlier the company donated Corona diagnostic kits and protection items to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, foodstuffs and protection materials for needy people at Mirsarai and Anowara Upazilas in Chattogram.
