Remittance inflow saw some 35 per cent growth during the July-March period of the current fiscal year (FY), 2020-21, compared to the same period a year back.
During the first nine months of current FY some US$18.603 billion entered Bangladesh as remittance, compared to $13.774 billion in the corresponding period of last FY.
In March 2021 alone some $1.916 billion remittance came, while the figure was $1.276 billion in March 2020.
Providing 2.0 per cent incentives for remittance through official channel is considered one of the major factors behind the surge.
