Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to implement two major road and drain development projects with an estimated cost of around Tk 600 million.
The development works include 191-kilometre roads and 21.40-kilometre drains.
The RCC authorities revealed this at a contract signing ceremony of the projects styled "Development of different important roads in Rajshahi City" in the City Bhaban conference hall in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, and chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority Prof Bazlar Rahman addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with RCC Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul in the chair.
RCC Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque and Superintending Engineer Khandaker Khairul Bashar gave a Power Point overview of the projects to be implemented in all 30 wards, reports BSS.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Bulbul said the city corporation has adopted another scheme of Tk 1600 million four-lane road from Gourhanga crossing to airport and 19 natural pond conservation projects.
Lawmaker Badsha told the meeting that Rajshahi WASA plans to implement a Tk 3,300,00 million water treatment plant project for improving water supply system in the metropolis.
